Course Syllabus

Course Objective

The objective in Spanish II is the development of real language learning. Students should be able to discuss themselves and their immediate surroundings, make travel plans, successfully shop for food and clothing, discuss technology, and compare and contrast people, places, and events. Integrated into the study of these topics are culture, community, connections and comparisons. Activities will include opportunities to use the language in situations that might occur outside the classroom. The textbook used is ¡Buen viaje 2! This text will be supplemented by other resources including the student’s notebook . Also, integrated into this course will be the use of an interactive approach to support language acquisition, Total Physical Response Storytelling (TPRS). Through TPRS, students will learn new vocabulary through gesturing and picture association and will learn the ease of speaking a foreign language by telling stories.
